Designing Accessible Public Spaces

When we think about accessibility we are often thinking about designing for people with permanent disabilities. But the truth is that we all experience the need for accommodation, some of us on an ongoing basis, others temporarily, & a few of us in only certain situations.  But how do we go about creating public spaces that are welcoming, accommodating, & inclusionary of people & the unique accommodations they may require?

Join folx doing the work of designing & advocating for accessible public spaces in a conversation about the importance of creating accessible public spaces.  Our panel will share their insights on the importance of considering diverse perspectives and needs and the challenges and opportunities in designing public spaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and accessible.  The conversation will also touch on examples of successful inclusive design projects and discuss strategies for advocating for accessibility in public spaces.

We invite you to RSVP and join our panelists & the co:census co:mmunity on Wednesday, June 7th, to discuss how we can work together to design public spaces that are truly for everybody.
